Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information Varahi9 Media collects, why, how we look after it and what your rights are. It is the notice of Varahi9 Broadcasting Private Limited under section 5 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”). It describes what we actually do: nothing here is something we don't do, and we do nothing with your information that isn't here.
The short version
You can read our news without giving us any personal information. We don't track what you read, and we use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
If you create an account, we keep only what we need to run it and keep it safe: your email address, your mobile number if you sign up with one, and the fact that you confirmed you are 18 or older. We never ask for your date of birth.
We never sell your personal information.
Your information is stored in India.
You can get a copy of your information, correct it or ask us to delete your account at any time.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, our Grievance Officer will answer within 15 days.

“Personal information” means information about you that identifies you or could identify you, such as your email address or mobile number.
2. What does this policy cover?
2.1 This policy covers you when you read varahi9media.com, with or without an account, and when you create and use a Varahi9 Media account at app.varahi9media.com.
What isn't covered?
2.2 Services run by other companies, even when you reach them through ours, such as YouTube videos we embed or signing in with Google. Their own privacy policies apply, so please read them.
2.3 The employment records of Varahi9 Media staff, which are handled under their terms of employment.
3. Who is responsible for my information?
Varahi9 Broadcasting Private Limited is responsible for your personal information. Under the DPDP Act, we are its “Data Fiduciary”. For any question about your information, write to support@varahi9media.com. Our Grievance Officer is Yamalaiah Sangam, yamalaiah@varahi9media.com.
4. What personal information do you collect?
a. Information you give us
When you create an account, you choose one way to sign up:
Email and password: your email address. Your password is held by our sign-in service in a form we can't read.
Mobile number: your mobile number, which we confirm with a one-time code by SMS, and an email address, because every account needs one.
Google: Google shares your email address and the name on your Google account with our sign-in service.
Whichever way you choose, we record that you confirmed you are 18 or older, and when you did. We never ask for, or keep, your date of birth.
If you write to us or send us a news tip, photo or video, we have your contact details and whatever you send.
b. Information about your device and connection
To deliver our pages and protect our services from abuse, our servers and our network provider process your IP address, a description your browser gives of itself, and the page you asked for. When you sign in, we record when, from which IP address and browser, and whether it worked. This protects your account.
c. Your location
We don't collect your location.
d. Information from other companies
Only if you choose to sign up or sign in with Google: your email address and the name on your Google account.
e. How you use our services
We don't record what you read or watch, and we run no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. In your account we keep your sessions, your settings and the changes you make, which you can see yourself in Account Center › Activity log. If you add Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint sign-in, we keep only a public key; your face or fingerprint never leaves your device.
If you're signed in, the news site asks our app who you are, only so that it can show your menu. We don't use that to record what you read.
5. How do you use my information?
a. To create and run your account
To set up your account, sign you in and remember your settings. We do this on the consent you give when you create your account.
b. To keep you and our services safe
To protect your account and to spot and stop misuse, such as repeated failed sign-ins.
c. To send you the messages you need
Sign-in and confirmation codes, security alerts and messages about your account (section 6).
d. To deal with your requests
To answer your questions, requests, complaints and grievances.
e. To meet our legal duties
Including handling grievances under the Information Technology Rules, 2021, and answering lawful requests from authorities.
f. To remember your choices on your device
Your language and theme choices are saved in your own browser, not sent to us.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information, build advertising profiles, show you advertising based on your activity, or use your information for any purpose this policy doesn't describe.
6. When will you contact me?
We contact you only when we need to:
to send you a sign-in or confirmation code you asked for;
to warn you about something that affects the security of your account;
to tell you about important changes to your account, this policy or our Terms;
to reply when you've written to us.
7. Will you send me marketing?
No. We don't send marketing messages or newsletters today. If we ever start, we will ask for your consent first, you'll be able to change your mind at any time, and we'll update this policy.
8. When do you share my information?
a. With companies that help us run our services
These companies handle personal information only on our instructions and only for the purpose shown:
Amazon Web Services (Mumbai region, India): our database, file storage and sign-in service (Amazon Cognito).
Cloudflare: delivers our websites and protects them from attacks.
Resend: delivers our emails.
MSG91 (India): delivers our SMS codes.
b. When you choose another company's service
If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google and our sign-in service exchange the information needed to sign you in.
c. When the law requires it
We share personal information with courts, regulators or law-enforcement agencies only when the law requires us to.
d. If our business changes hands
If Varahi9 Media's business were transferred to another company, your information would go with it, and it would still be protected as this policy describes.
We never sell it
We never sell your personal information to anyone.
9. Where do you keep my information, and how do you protect it?
Where we store it
Your personal information is stored in India, in Amazon Web Services' Mumbai region. While emails are delivered, and while our network provider carries our pages, your information can pass through other countries, as section 16 of the DPDP Act permits.
How we protect it
Every connection to our services is encrypted. Contact details and other personal information are stored encrypted in our database. Our staff can reach only what their role needs, and their access is protected by two-step verification.
If something goes wrong
If a personal data breach happens, we will tell the Data Protection Board of India and the people affected, as the DPDP Act requires.
10. How long do you keep my information?
Your account: for as long as it exists. When you ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days. We keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as the records below, and only for as long as it requires.
Sign-in and security records: 180 days.
Records of the emails we sent you: one year.
Your 18+ confirmation, other consent records and the audit record of account actions: seven years, as evidence.
What you write to us: as long as we need it to answer you and resolve your request.
11. What about children?
11.1 Anyone can read our news, but accounts are only for people aged 18 or older.
11.2 We don't knowingly create an account for anyone younger or collect their personal information. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its personal information.
11.3 If you're a parent or guardian and think your child has created an account, write to support@varahi9media.com and we'll deal with it promptly.
12. Can I delete my information?
a. Your account
Yes. Write to support@varahi9media.com from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We delete it within 30 days, keeping only what the law requires (section 10).
b. Other information you've shared with us
Ask us at support@varahi9media.com to delete messages or other material you've sent. If we've published something you sent as part of our journalism, we'll consider your request in line with our Editorial policy and the law.
13. What are my rights?
Under sections 11 to 14 of the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
Know what we hold about you. Download a copy in Account Center › Privacy & Data, or ask us for a summary at support@varahi9media.com.
Correct, complete or update it. In Account Center, or by writing to us.
Have it erased, as section 12 explains.
Withdraw your consent, by deleting your account. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to, by writing to us.
Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer, Yamalaiah Sangam, yamalaiah@varahi9media.com. We acknowledge every grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
14. How do you use cookies and similar technologies?
a. What they are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. “Local storage” is a similar place in your browser where a website can remember things.
b. What we use, and why
varahi9media.com sets no cookies. It saves your language and theme choice in your browser's local storage.
app.varahi9media.com uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for signing in and keeping your account safe:
__Host-v9s: keeps you signed in.
__Host-v9csrf: protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
Short-lived sign-in cookies (__Host-v9pkce, __Host-v9otp, __Host-v9sup, __Host-v9pwt, __Host-v9pwv, __Host-v9pwn, __Host-v9adult, __Host-v9adp): carry one sign-in, code or confirmation step from one page to the next.
c. How long they last
The sign-in cookie lasts while you stay signed in. The short-lived ones expire within an hour at most, or within 24 hours for an email confirmation.
d. How to control them
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser's settings. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you won't be able to sign in.
e. What we don't use
We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If we ever introduce advertising that uses cookies, we'll ask for your consent first and update this policy.
15. How will I find out about changes to this policy?
We publish every change on this page with a new version number and effective date. If a change affects how we use your information, we'll email account holders before it takes effect.

11. పిల్లల సంగతేమిటి?
